Oregon-Davis is joining other Starke and LaPorte County school corporations in sharing more details about its reopening plans. At this point, O-D is still planning on a full return of students and staff on August 6, but that could change depending on the situation at the time.
In a letter sent on behalf of all of the school corporations in the two counties, school officials say they’re recommending that students and staff wear masks in certain situations, including on the school bus. Sick students and staff will have to be fever-free for 72 hours before returning to school.
Perfect attendance incentives will be discontinued, while lunch procedures and class scheduling may be adjusted. Restrictions will be placed on visitors, and there will be more cleaning and hand sanitizer stations.
Starke and LaPorte counties’ school corporations and health departments have been working to coordinate a common response.
