Two more local residents have died from COVID-19, according to the latest report from the Indiana State Department of Health.
One resident died of COVID-19 in Marshall County bringing the total to 20 and one additional resident has died of COVID-19 in Starke County bringing that total to five.
The number of positive cases continues to increase, but at a slower rate. Marshall County had six new cases for a new cumulative total of 718, while Starke County and Pulaski County’s numbers stayed the same from Monday’s report. Starke County has a cumulative total of 151 and Pulaski County has 69.
Patients are in varying stages of fighting the virus and recovering from the virus.
The Indiana State Department of Health announced that 809 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state which brings the state total to 63,678. The ISDH adds that 44.6 percent of ICU beds and 83.5 percent of ventilators are available across the state.
The drive-thru COVID-19 testing clinics at Knox High School and Plymouth Wesleyan Church will continue Tuesday, July 28 through Saturday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time each day. Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome to get a COVID-19 test for free.
