West Central’s principals will get a slight pay adjustment. Updated principals’ contracts were approved by the school board last week, according to Superintendent Dan Zylstra.
“We just made some tweaks to the administrator contracts based on the 2019-20 evaluations, nothing major,” he says. “We adjusted the contracts upward a little bit.”
The school board also hired Andrea Campbell as the next school nurse. “We’re very happy to have hired somebody to come in during the COVID crisis and take care of those student needs,” Zylstra adds.
He says board members also agreed to suspend any policies that might interfere with the school corporation’s ability to operate during the pandemic. “So if there’s some attendance policies or things that we might have to not follow to a T because of flexibility necessary during COVID, we passed a resolution to allow those types of things,” Zylstra explains.
West Central expects to release its full COVID-19 reopening plan later this week.
