Culver School Board Member, Fire Chief Eyeing Early Retirement

Culver Community School Board member Ken VanDePutte will not be seeking re-election this fall as a member of the board.

His resignation was included in the list of consent agenda items in the recent Culver Community School Board meeting, which was accepted by the board members.

VanDePutte told WKVI News that on Dec. 30 he will have served 10 years on the school board.  He is also anticipating to retire from the Culver-Union Township Fire Department at the end of the year after 25 years of service to the community.  He will retire as the Fire Department’s Fire Chief.

VanDePutte said he has enjoyed his years given to the Culver community, but now he wants to focus on early retirement.
