Donations to help local teachers help underprivileged children will be accepted today during the annual Cheryl Lyn Welter Foundation Radiothon!
As teachers deal with COVID-19 measures in addition to regular challenges, grant dollars raised today can help make a difference in a child’s life. It is the hope of Foundation officials that maximum grants can be increased so more dollars can help with these challenges.
Thousands of dollars have helped area children in the listening area with donations from those in the community who give generously to the effort each year.
Donors can help themselves answer this year’s theme of “Did I Make a Difference?” by donating during today’s radiothon until 4 p.m. CT. Donations of any sort are welcome. Several special guests will be on the program to discuss ways that the Foundation has benefited children in the Kankakee Valley.
Several auction items are up for bid today including four tickets to the upcoming Knox at North Judson-San Pierre football game, an autographed baseball from former local baseball star Sean Manaea who now plays for the Oakland Athletics, 10 dinner tickets to an exclusive soft opening of the Harbour House at Bass Lake on Aug. 27, and an autographed program from the Oak Ridge Boys.
Volunteers from all over the listening area will be available to take your call today at 574-772-6241.
