Eastern Pulaski Hires NEOLA to Help with Policy Updates

The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation is looking to overhaul its corporation policies. The school board last week agreed to start working with policy consultant NEOLA to update and publish policies going forward, according to Superintendent Dara Chezem.

“This is going to be a year-long process in which we review all of our board policies and bring them back to the school board to make sure that they all are updated,” Chezem explains.

Eastern Pulaski is one of the few local school corporations not already using NEOLA’s services. Among other things, the company makes sure schools’ policies are in compliance with the latest state and federal laws. As part of that process, Chezem says NEOLA will work with a committee of three board members. NEOLA will also make all of the school corporation’s policies available for the public to view online.

All of that will cost Eastern Pulaski $10,000. Chezem says board members decided to pay that up front, rather than in 12 monthly installments.
