Hudson Lake Man Arrested on Suspicion of Child Molesting, Sexual Misconduct with a Minor

Richard N. Piechocki

A Hudson Lake man was arrested Aug. 27 following an investigation by the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department.

La Porte County Sheriff’s Deputy Wade Wallace interviewed several parents and victims in the afternoon of Aug. 24 after they filed complaints regarding alleged sexual offenses.  In the following days, police say detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division investigated the allegations further which led to a search warrant and a subsequent interview with 46-year-old Richard Piechocki of Hudson Lake.

In the afternoon of Aug. 27, Piechocki was housed in the La Porte County Jail and La Porte County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Elizabeth Boehm filed formal charges against Piechocki the next day with a judge’s signature, according to the report.

Piechocki was charged with two Level 1 Felony counts of child molesting, and four Level 4 Felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.  Piechocki remains housed in the La Porte County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond through La Porte County Superior Court 1.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Detective James Lear assisted with the investigation.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
