The Indiana State Department of Health announced Thursday that 1,051 additional people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 which brings the total number of Indiana residents known to have COVID-19 to 71,015.
Marshall County saw an increase of six cases from Wednesday’s report for a cumulative total of 758. Starke County’s case numbers increased by four to 174 and Pulaski County’s case county remained at 75.
Patients are in varying stages of fighting the virus and recovering from the virus.
According to the Regenstrief Institute, 76 percent of individuals statewide have recovered from COVID-19 while 20 percent of those infected are actively fighting the virus.
No additional local deaths were reported but the state saw an increase of six deaths from Wednesday’s report for a total of 2,811. Deaths are reported based on when data is received the Indiana State Department of Health and occurred over multiple days.
