The Vote Center Plan for Starke County was recently accepted by the Indiana Election Division.
Starke County Clerk Bernadette Manuel told the Starke County Council members and the Starke County Commissioners that the plan will be in place for the General Election in November.
That means that any registered voter eligible to vote in the General Election may vote at any of the seven sites open for voting. They include the Koontz Lake Property Owners Building, James R. Hardesty Community Building in Hamlet, Washington Township Community Building, Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox, North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department, San Pierre Fire Department, and the Bass Lake-California Township Fire Department.
To read the complete plan, along with exhibits, follow this link, or call the clerk’s office for a paper copy. EPoll books will be used in the fall election which will involve an electronic signature following the successful scan of an acceptable form of identification presented at the polling site. Employees of the Clerk’s Office and poll workers will be trained on the process in a future setting.
