An auction is planned in the next month or so which will include the old seating currently being removed from the courtroom in the Starke County Courthouse.
The movie theater seating was installed in the room more than 50 years ago. The olive-colored seats will be replaced with bench seating in an extensive renovation effort on the third floor of the courthouse.
The auction date has not been scheduled but it may include some equipment from the Starke County Highway Department.
Crew members from Ziolkowski Construction are working on the updates to the courtroom, the Magistrate’s court, and the jury room.
