A local attraction will once again be welcoming visitors to North Judson this weekend. The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum has been limiting its train rides to one day a month, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This Saturday, the museum will offer three 10-mile excursions to English Lake. They’ll leave the North Judson depot at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.

Museum officials say the cars, depot, restrooms, and gift shop are all being sanitized on a regular basis. As usual, visitors will have the chance to ride in open-air cars. Passengers are encouraged to get their tickets ahead of time at HoosierValley.org or by leaving a message at 574-896-3950.

The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum has had an especially challenging season, and not just because of the pandemic. On the day of last month’s excursions, museum volunteers say they discovered thousands of dollars worth of damage from an apparent act of vandalism.
