The Knox City Council adopted the 2021 budget last week. It totals just over $3 million, with almost $1.6 million of that being the General Fund. While those are slight decreases from this year’s budget, Mayor Dennis Estok previously noted that the amount of revenue should be slightly higher.
The 2021 budget includes a Motor Vehicle Highway Fund of more than $385,000 and a Park and Recreation Fund of over $154,000. $530,000 will be available to spend out of the city’s share of Economic Development Income Tax revenues. The budget now goes to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance for final approval.
The city council also agreed to keep its meeting schedule the same in 2021. Meetings will continue to be held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in Knox City Hall.
