Knox City Council to Adopt 2021 Budget Tonight

The 2021 budget will be up for adoption during tonight’s Knox City Council meeting. The total proposed budget is just over $3 million, with almost $1.6 million of that being the General Fund.

During the recent public hearing, Mayor Dennis Estok said it’s pretty similar to this year’s. “We get a little more money for the 2021,” he explained. “We’ve made some adjustments from last year, just moved money around within the budget. That’s the only difference.” The mayor previously said he’s planning to recommend limiting pay raises for city employees to one-percent and offering no increase for elected officials or appointed board members.

In other business tonight, the Knox City Council will discuss Carlson Drive signage and its 2021 meeting schedule. Tonight’s meeting starts at 7:00 at Knox City Hall.
