The Pulaski County continues making arrangements for IT services. The county commissioners recently approved a quote from Roeing IT Solutions to handle regular updates for all of the county’s computers at a cost of $1,200 per month.
The commissioners agreed to contract IT services to a professional network management in Nampa back in December. But the company first wanted to analyze the county’s existing systems and come up with a three-phase technology remediation plan.
The commissioners already agreed to spend about $22,000 to upgrade the county’s backup and security systems, as part of the first phase. Now, the commissioners are being asked to consider the second phase.
It will include replacing the county’s network equipment at an estimated cost of $105,000. Auditor Laura Wheeler recently told the commissioners that most of that equipment is outdated and no longer under warranty. Roeing believes the new equipment will cost about $50,000, plus another $40,000 to $50,000 for labor. The rest of the cost would be for the required licenses.
Wheeler explained that the county originally planned to incorporate the second phase into the courthouse renovation project, but with work still about a year away, Wheeler wants the commissioners to act on it sooner. She said the county council still had to figure out how to fund the second phase work.
