Starke County Government Mobile Food Delivery Program to Close Sept. 10

The last day to take part in the Starke County Government Mobile Food Delivery Program will be Tuesday, Sept. 8 with deliveries to be made on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The order form will go live on Sept. 8 in order to prepare for delivery on Sept. 10.

The Starke County Government Mobile Food Delivery Program assists those who are quarantined due to COVID-19 and those whose employment may have suffered due to the shutdown of businesses due to the health pandemic.  The program also helps the older population in a time of need.

The program has been funded by grant money from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs and the Starke County Community Foundation and the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.

Hot food items and pre-boxed grocery items are delivered to one household per week.   The order form can be found on the county’s website at www.co.starke.in.us or call the Starke County Clerk’s Office at 574-772-9128.

The program has assisted many residents in their time of need since April.  Many of the restaurant owners who participated in the program say that their businesses were able to stay open with the county’s support.
