The Starke County Youth Club has been awarded almost $367,000. The Indiana Department of Education says the funding is part of the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program.
It awards funds through a competitive grant process to organizations demonstrating a strong commitment to out-of-school programming. More than $10 million is going to 45 organizations in the latest round, with 16 of those being new to the program.
In a Facebook post, the Starke County Youth Club said the funding will allow the organization “to continue to provide much needed services to children and families and create positive change in our community!”
