Three Arrested on Drug Charges in Knox

Three people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Knox just after midnight on Saturday, September 19.

Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith says a Knox City Police Department officer conducted the traffic stop at the intersection of Water Street and Heaton Street.  K9 O’Neill was deployed who indicated the presence of narcotics, according to the report.  In a search of the vehicle, several individually packaged baggies of heroin were reportedly found that weighed approximately 40 grams.  

Knox residents 28-year-old Gerald Boyd, Jr., and 30-year-old Alyssa Bobb, along with 32-year-old Ashley Keen of North Judson, were arrested and placed in the custody of the Starke County Justice Center.  They face Level 2 Felony charges of dealing in a narcotic drug, and Level 3 Felony charges of possession of a narcotic drug. 

They remain in the Starke County Justice Center with a $100,000 cash-only bond.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
