The Knox City Council will consider a resolution tonight that would allow CARES Act funding to be used to reimburse public safety payroll costs. Mayor Dennis Estok told council members last month that the city’s share of the federal funding was almost $115,000.
The mayor is also expected to present a proposed 2021 salary ordinance. Estok had been considering a one-percent raise for city employees, but no increase for elected officials or appointed board members.
The city council will also be asked to approve the 2021 holiday schedule tonight. City employees will likely get two fewer days off next year, due to the lack of elections. The holiday schedule has already been approved by the Knox Board of Works.
Tonight’s Knox City Council meeting starts at 7:00 at Knox City Hall.
