Knox School Superintendent Elaborates on Switch to Virtual Learning

Knox Community School Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart is hoping an extra week out of school will help get things closer to normal. When students return from fall break next week, they’ll attend class virtually, rather than in-person.

Reichhart says that while they want to keep school open as much as possible, the number of students and staff members in quarantine was making that difficult. “I think we had 112 students quarantined on the end of last week,” he explains. “That doesn’t count staff.”

As of last Friday, all three of the corporation’s schools had seen fewer than five student cases, while Knox High School has also had fewer than five staff cases, according to statistics reported to the Indiana Department of Health.
