The Pulaski County Council will finalize the county’s 2021 budget tonight.
Some ideas that have been proposed include cutting the emergency management agency director position to part-time and reallocating airport tax revenues to the county’s General Fund. The majority of the council has generally opposed departments’ requests for more staff but wants to find a way to give pay raises.
In other business, council members will try to figure out how to pay for the county’s upcoming legal battle over the Mammoth Solar development. Tonight’s Pulaski County Council meeting starts at 7:00 in the Pulaski County Highway Garage, following its joint session with the county commissioners at 6:00.
During that meeting, Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer will have updates on the planned courthouse renovation and Justice Center expansion, as well as the solar projects. County officials are also expected to finalize plan for federal CARES Act funding.
