Early voting turnout remains high in Pulaski County, and Clerk JoLynn Behny isn’t counting on that pace slowing down on Election Day. “I think they’re going to be slammed regardless of how many people come out to vote early,” she told the rest of the Pulaski County Election Board Wednesday. “I think they’re still going to be slammed. So we will mark six feet at each polling location. They’re going to get rolls of tape to mark the six feet social distancing. They’ve got signage.”
Behny said over 27 percent of the county’s registered voters have already cast their ballots. “On Saturday morning in four hours, we had 129 people vote at Francesville, and at Winamac, we’re up to 1,830 people,” Behny said. “And then, we’ve checked in almost 500 paper ballots.”
She said that none of the mail-in ballots can be opened until noon on Election Day, but they can start sorting them by precinct earlier that morning.
