The annual delinquent property tax sale was held on Thursday, October 1 in Starke County, conducted by SRI Incorporated on behalf of County Auditor Rachel Oesterreich and County Treasurer Kay Chaffins, with the assistance of SRI where 125 parcels were offered to 32 bidders.
This year’s tax sale resulted in the collection of $364,020.58 from owners and buyers. That amount includes all taxes, penalties, and costs paid in full on 175 parcels.
Fifty-six properties did not sell so a tax lien will be acquired by the Starke County Commissioners. The commissioners may offer those properties to the public at a sale at a later date.
