Starke County Commissioner Kathy Norem talked last week with her fellow commissioners about complaints she has received from residents about people not wearing masks while inside the county’s businesses.
“I’ve been getting a lot of complaints from people in the public that the restaurant workers are not wearing their masks or wearing them properly,” stated Norem. “With the COVID spike that we’ve had and being over 10 percent [positivity], I think we should ask Frank [Lynch, Starke County Health Nurse] to re-issue a reminder to them all that they need to follow the state guidelines for the masks.”
Governor Eric Holcomb has not lifted the state’s mask order and Starke County Health Nurse Frank Lynch confirmed that the local mask order remains in effect
Health officials continue to ask for compliance as the number of COVID-19 positive cases continues on an upward trend.
