N.J.-S.P. Jr./Sr. High School Reports Third Student COVID-19 Case in Less than a Week

North Judson-San Pierre Junior/Senior High School is reporting its third student case of COVID-19 in less than a week. Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin reported another case on Tuesday. She says all close contacts have been notified.

That brings the school to a total of six student cases, according to materials from Tuesday’s school board meeting. Two teachers or staff members have tested positive at the school, while one teacher has tested positive at North Judson-San Pierre Elementary School.

N.J.-S.P. is currently using virtual learning, due to the number of staff members in quarantine. The plan is still to return to in-person learning on November 30.

Most local schools appear to be giving regular updates to the Indiana Department of Health, which, in turn, updates its public dashboard each Monday. Zupin has taken the extra step of notifying the public directly whenever a positive case is reported. While reporting Tuesday’s positive case, Zupin apologized for the number of messages sent in the past week, but said she feels it’s important to keep the school and community informed.
