North Judson Limiting Public Access to Town Hall But Proceeding with Holiday Festivities

The Town of North Judson is adjusting its operations in response to the surge in COVID-19 cases. Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe told the town council Monday that he plans to close the town hall to the public for now, with business to be conducted by appointment only and payments being made using the drop box. North Judson Town Hall can be reached at 574-896-3340.

However, the annual tree lighting ceremony at Norwayne Field is expected to go on with precautions on Friday, December 4. Park Board President Nick Radtke said people can expect live music and social distancing. He said the event will likely include the usual parade, but more plans will be finalized at Thursday’s park board meeting.

Council members also expressed support for keeping North Judson’s employee Christmas party, although it may have to be moved from the town hall to a larger space to allow for more social distancing. Rowe added that employees may be grouped together by household or department. The party is expected to remain below the 50-person limit set for gatherings in counties coded orange in the Indiana Department of Health’s map.
