Starke County is reporting its largest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases. Another 21 cases were reported in Sunday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the county’s total to 530.
Meanwhile, Marshall County continues to see some of its largest single-day increases since early July, with 39 new cases reported Sunday. A total of 1,641 Marshall County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began. Pulaski County had another four residents test positive for a new total of 198.
The seven-day positivity rates for unique individuals remain high, according to the state’s calculations. Starke County’s rate is up to 23.8 percent, Marshall County’s is at 22.2, and Pulaski County’s is 12. However, all three counties’ rates remain in the single digits when repeat tests are counted.
The state as a whole reported almost 2,800 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, pushing the overall total over 182,000. Another 28 Hoosiers have died, raising the confirmed death count to 4,124.
