West Central Students to Continue with Virtual, In-Person Learning

Students in the West Central School Corporation will continue with a different type of schedule that was implemented to deal with COVID-19.

Superintendent Dan Zylstra said there have not been that many cases in the school.

“Many of our staff members are getting hit as close contacts and so they’re required to quarantine as per the regulations,” stated Zylstra.  “As a result, we did have to cancel in-person learning at the Elementary School for a time – not because of COVID cases, but because of close contact quarantines and the number of people that involved.”

In response to those continued quarantine efforts, the students will continue with an altered schedule.

Zylstra continued, “The week of November 9th, we are going to continue with virtual learning for our K-6 students.  We’re going to continue in person in high school.  We hope to be back in person for everybody on Friday, November 13.”

Zylstra commented that the staff and students are doing a good job with wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining a social distance during school to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
