Eastern Pulaski teachers and staff will be getting some extra money.
The 2020-2021 teacher contract approved by the school board last month gives teachers another $1,500, as a salary increase, one-time stipend, or combination of the two, according to Superintendent Dara Chezem.
Classified staff will get at least a two-percent raise, under a new salary schedule. “They would be placed on a schedule, based on their years of service and their position,” Chezem explains. “That would allow for increases based on job performance over time.”
Chezem says administrators won’t get a salary increase, but the school board did agree to give them stipends similar to those given to teachers. Board members also agreed to extend Chezem’s contract through the end of 2023.
