Indiana Department of Health Reports Over 6,500 New Cases of COVID-19

Another 6,543 residents in the state have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  The number of cases had been low in the last few days, with lower-than-usual testing during the Christmas holiday.  Marshall County had 17 new cases, Starke County had nine new cases and Pulaski County had 16 new cases. 

With Thursday’s new reported cases, Marshall County has an overall total of 4,467 cases since March, Starke County has a cumulative total of 1,554 and Pulaski County has an overall total of 850. 

A total of 7,911 residents have died from COVID-19 which is an increase of 99 from Wednesday’s report.  The newly reported deaths reportedly occurred between December 11 and December 30.
