The Starke County Commissioners will consider proposals of Starke Solar LLC to amend the zoning map for four parcels when they meet tonight.
They will consider the recommendations from the Starke County Planning Commission to rezone certain properties to agricultural for all purposes permitted in the agricultural zone. Those properties are owned by the Edna M. Bope Trust (zoned Local Business), Mark A. Kolish and Diane R. Kolish (zoned Residential-2 and Local Business), Swanson Farms, LLC (zoned Residential-2), and Welker Ag Properties LLC (zoned Residential-2).
The Starke County Planning Commission did vote to allow the rezoning on the properties owned by the Edna M. Bope Trust and the Kolish properties, but denied rezoning requests for the Swanson Farms and Welker Ag Properties. Those recommendations will be reviewed tonight.
Additionally, the Starke County Commissioners will open quotes for a sidewalk project, look at a resolution for a certificate sale, and hold a county closure discussion.
