The Winamac Town Council has finalized the 2021 salary ordinance. No major changes are being made to the base pay rate schedule, but the ordinance does add a new part-time “assistant to the clerk-treasurer” position, to be paid $20 per hour. That will allow outgoing Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger to stick around and help Kendra Craft learn the ropes.
Even though she would only be part time, Berger would still be eligible for insurance and other benefits. That drew some questions but no formal opposition from council members.
Town employees will once again get 11 paid holidays in 2021.
