Eastern Pulaski School Board Chooses New President, Attorney

Beth Ruff and Jimmy Terry take the oath of office during the first Eastern Pulaski School Board meeting of 2021.

The Eastern Pulaski School Board has some new leadership. Newly-elected board members Scott Hanson and Jimmy Terry took their oath of office last week, along with returning members Beth Ruff and Rob Zeider. Tim Rausch was elected board president. Zeider takes over as vice president, while Ruff was elected secretary.

Meanwhile, Susan Traynor Chastain of Lewis Kappes was appointed board attorney. She’ll represent the school corporation on an as-needed basis for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years.

The school board also agreed to hire Dr. Michele Moore for up to 12 days of financial and budget consultation, at the recommendation of Superintendent Dara Chezem. “We’ve made tremendous progress this past year on fund reports, bank reconciliations, and budget orders,” Chezem said, “and I request your approval to confer with her.”

Board members reappointed Treasurer Angie Anspach and Deputy Treasurer Stefanie Grandstaff, while Beverly Ton was reappointed to the Kewanna-Union Township Public Library Board. The school board members also agreed to keep their annual pay at $2,000 and to continue holding regular meetings on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. ET.
