Another 21 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Marshall County. That brings the county’s total to almost 5,000 since the pandemic began, according to Thursday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. Starke County had another six cases, while Pulaski County had another five. No new deaths were reported locally.
Meanwhile, the vaccine rollout continues. In Marshall County, 2,331 residents have gotten their first dose. Pulaski County remains ahead of Starke County, with 822 Pulaski County residents having gotten their first shot, compared to 751 in Starke County. The number of residents fully vaccinated is now up to 367 in Marshall County, 120 in Pulaski County, and 85 in Starke County.
The vaccine is now available to Hoosiers 70 and older, health care workers, long-term care residents, and first responders. Those eligible can make an appointment at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
More than 9,200 Hoosiers have died while positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began, while 375 deaths are believed to be COVID-related but with no positive test. More than 600,000 cases have been reported in Indiana since last March.
