North Judson Police Ready to Get Second K-9 following Successful Fundraiser

The North Judson Police Department is ready to get a second K-9. Town Marshal Kelly Fisher told the town council last week that the recent fundraising effort has been successful, and the department now has enough money for the dog.

Plans call for the K-9 to be picked out on February 18. Officer Keaton Leszek and the dog will begin their training at Vohne Liche Kennels on February 22. Council members unanimously agreed to let Fisher proceed with using the K-9 funds and to allow Leszek to attend the training.

The new dog will join K-9 Jimy, who’s been with the North Judson Police Department for the past two years. Fisher said her department will continue selling t-shirts and accepting donations, to help fund the K-9 program’s ongoing operations.
