One more person in Starke County died of COVID-19, according to Monday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the number of people who have died of the novel coronavirus in the county to 44.
As far as newly reported cases, the state reported another 2,210 new COVID-19 positive cases. Marshall County had 16 new positive cases for a new overall total of 5,069, Starke County had eight new cases for a new overall total of 1,764 and Pulaski County had five new cases for a new overall total of 976.
Another 12 people in the state have died bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 9,352. The number jumps to 9,728 with probable deaths based on a clinical diagnosis in patients with no positive test on record.
On the state’s school coronavirus dashboard that is updated every Monday, there were 1,826 new student cases of COVID-19 reported in the state last week, 302 new teacher positive cases and 325 new staff positive cases.
Less than five new student cases of COVID-19 were reported at North Judson-San Pierre Junior/Senior High School, Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School, Oregon-Davis Elementary School, and West Central High School.
Less than five new teacher cases were reported at North Judson-San Pierre Elementary School, and less than five new staff cases were reported at North Judson-San Pierre Junior/Senior High School and Oregon-Davis Elementary School.
