Pulaski County Commissioners to Reorganize, Choose Construction Manager for Building Upgrades

The two new Pulaski County Commissioners will take their seats for the first time tonight. Maurice Loehmer and Charles Mellon took the oath of office last week, after winning last year’s elections. They’ll join returning Commissioner Mike McClure.

Their first order of business will be to choose a new board president and vice president and to consider the reappointments of several department heads. The commissioners will also appoint representatives to the county’s advisory plan commission, the Community Development Commission, the Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission, and a number of committees. They’ll also set the meeting and holiday schedules for the year.

An update from Pulaski County’s COVID-19 Incident Management Team will be given by Commissioner Loehmer. The commissioners will also choose construction managers for the courthouse renovation and Justice Center expansion projects. The committees set up to review the proposals have recommended Tonn & Blank Construction for both as well as the use of digital twin software.

Tonight’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 EST in the Pulaski County Highway Garage. It will be streamed live on the Pulaski County, Indiana, Government Facebook page.
