Another Pulaski County resident has died while positive for COVID-19. The death occurred Wednesday, according to Saturday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the county’s total death count up to 35.
Another 13 Pulaski County residents have tested positive. Marshall County had 28 new positive cases, while Starke County had 22. Marshall County’s seven-day positivity rate for all tests as calculated by the Indiana Department of Health is now at 24 percent. Starke County’s rate is 15.4 percent, while Pulaski County’s is 14 percent.
The state as a whole reported 6,045 new cases Saturday, bringing the total to 558,560 since the pandemic began. Almost 2,700 COVID-19 patients were in the hospital. Another 75 Hoosiers have died, for a total confirmed death count of 8,595. There are also 371 deaths that are believed to be COVID-related, but with no positive test.
The number of flu-related deaths reported by the Indiana Department of Health since the current flu season began in late September is three.
