The North Judson Police Department now has a second K-9. Tiko was selected by Officer Keaton Leszek at Vohne Liche Kennels on Thursday, according to a police department Facebook post. It follows months of fundraising by the town’s police officers.
Town Marshal Kelly Fisher told the town council Monday that the money raised will cover the cost of the dog, a kennel, and some of the other needed equipment. She said police will continue selling shirts and taking donations, to cover any other needs that may come up.
Officer Leszek and Tiko are expected to start their training on Monday. Tiko will join K-9 Jimy, who’s been with the North Judson Police Department since 2018.
