The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation recently got a new athletic trainer, thanks to a partnership involving Pulaski Memorial Hospital and Logansport Memorial Hospital.
“They have been searching for someone to fill this position for quite some time now, and we are excited that they have located a trainer,” says Eastern Pulaski Superintendent Dara Chezem. “Her name is Erin Orttell. She graduated from Ball State with an undergraduate degree and got her master’s from Manchester University.”
Chezem says the trainer will use the same agreement that’s been in place. “She will travel with certain teams for away games and be responsible for our high school sports,” Chezem explains. “If there’s an injury to a middle school athlete during the hours that she is here in attendance, she will help out in those situations.”
Chezem says the cost of the athletic trainer is supported completely by the hospitals.
