Another Marshall County resident has died while positive for COVID-19. The death occurred Tuesday, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the county’s total number of COVID-19 deaths up to 108. Another nine positive cases were reported in Marshall County, while Starke County had another four.
Marshall County’s seven-day all-tests positivity rate is at 4.9 percent. Starke County’s is 6.9 percent, while Pulaski County’s is 2.3 percent. The state as a whole reported 1,256 new cases, the highest single-day increase since February. Another 20 Hoosiers have died, bringing the state’s total confirmed death count to 12,662 since the pandemic began.
As of Friday morning, 23.3 percent of Pulaski County residents age 16 and up are fully vaccinated, along with 19.6 percent in Marshall County and 16.3 percent in Starke County. The state as a whole is at 21.4 percent.
