The number of daily new COVID-19 cases in the state continues to be above 1,000 while multiple new cases are being reported locally.
The Indiana Department of Health announced Saturday that 1,380 additional residents in the state have been diagnosed with COVID-19, including 11 more people in Marshall County, nine more people in Starke County and four more people in Pulaski County. As covid testing has ramped up more cases have been found, which has led to more people following procedure and staying at home attempting to prevent themselves from being a part of the spread.
An overall total of 5,709 cases in Marshall County have been reported since March of 2020. There are 1,993 overall cases in Starke County and 1,122 overall cases in Pulaski County.
The number of people being hospitalized with COVID-19 continues to increase. According to Saturday’s report, 870 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms, an increase of 85 from Friday’s report.
Another seven people in the state have died of COVID-19, which raises the total number of deaths to 12,733.

A total of 3,333,969 doses have been administered in Indiana. Over 8,600 people in Marshall County are fully vaccinated, while 3,522 people in Starke County and 2,705 people in Pulaski County are fully vaccinated.
