Pulaski County Chooses Town & Country for 1450 West Paving Project

Pulaski County has once again chosen Town & Country Paving for its next road project. County Road 1450 West is set to be resurfaced between 200 South and the Town of Francesville, according to Highway Superintendent Gary Kruger.

“Basically, what they’ll do is they’ll come in with their paving machine and if there’s edges of the road, they want to get it like a half-inch from the center of the road to the outside, to make it for your runoff,” he told the county commissioners Monday. “So that’s what they do on the first layer, and then they’ll come back with an inch-and-a-half overlay of the virgin asphalt.”

Town & Country submitted the lowest of three bids, at just under $349,000. Kruger felt the company has done a good job on the county’s previous projects, noting that its nearby location helps keep costs down. Town & Country’s bid was unanimously approved by the county commissioners on Monday. INDOT’s Community Crossings grant will cover 75 percent of qualifying expenses.
