Starke County Commissioners to Meet Tonight

The Starke County Commissioners will meet tonight where they will have a discussion on COVID restrictions.

The commissioners will also review a resolution concerning House Bill 1381.  If passed, the bill would set statewide standards regarding the placement and operation of commercial wind farms and solar farms where local guidelines could not overstep the state law.  Several other county government officials in the state have passed resolutions opposing the proposed legislation.

More discussion will be held on dirt track complaints, and the American Rescue Plan Act ordinance.

EMS Director Travis Clary will have his regular report for the commissioners, along with Auditor Rachel Oesterreich, and a report from the Starke County Highway Department will be presented. Lewis Matzat from the Starke County Emergency Management Agency will discuss the need for a full-time EMA Director.

The Starke County Commissioners will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex No. 1 building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
