The Starke County Park Board agreed last week to move ahead with an erosion control project at the Bass Lake Beach. Back in October, JD Excavating submitted the low quote for excavation work related to the installation of glacial stone, at a cost of $5,500. It does not include the cost of the stone itself.
Last week, board members agreed to accept the quote, as long as the price remains the same and the company is still able to do the work. If not, the project will be awarded to the next-lowest bidder.
Part of the project’s cost will be covered by a $4,000 grant from Arrowhead Country Resource Conservation and Development.
