The Starke County Planning Commission members discussed complaints filed against two dirt bike tracks in the North Judson area last week.
The discussion stemmed from a list of complaints brought before the Starke County Commissioners in a March meeting where residents complained about the noise at two areas where dirt bike tracks are located at Range Road and State Road 10, and 300 W. just north of North Judson city limits which is in the two-mile zone.
Starke County Planning Commission member Surveyor Bill Crase told WKVI News the technical committee will meet to discuss details that would be put into a zoning ordinance and an amendment to the noise ordinance pertaining to the dirt bike tracks.
He said the current operations are in commercial/residential and residential zones which do not allow for that type of activity. The technical committee will come up with recommendations on where those types of tracks could be located.
