A new source of COVID-19 relief is now available for Indiana hotels and entertainment venues. The Indiana Hospitality & Entertainment Grant program lets qualifying businesses apply for up to a total of $1 million to reimburse expenses from March 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021. Those eligible to apply include hotels, motels, movie theaters, theater companies, and event promoters.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says payroll expenses may be reimbursed up to 100 percent. Things like rent, mortgage payments, utilities, and safety investments may be reimbursed up to 80 percent.
A total of $30 million is available through federal funding. The state plans to issue grants in the order they’re received until funding runs out. Otherwise, the last day to apply will be December 31.
