An application is now available for small businesses in the unincorporated areas of Starke County for owners seeking relief after experiencing losses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starke County was recently awarded funds in the third round of the state’s COVID-19 Response program. About $100,000 will be made available to eligible businesses that apply and the other $150,000 will be used to support families in need of food.
Applications will be evaluated based on eligible uses of funds which may include payroll, utilities, rent, mortgage payments, insurance, or similar expenses, and products directly used in production of a product for sale. The business must have 25 or fewer employees and cannot be a governmental unit or non-profit organization. Other criteria must also be met.
The application can be found below or on the Starke County government website at www.co.starke.in.us. Call the Starke County Auditor’s Office at 574-772-9101 for additional questions.
The application deadline is June 30, 2021.
