Culver Police Officers Recognized during National Police Week

The Culver Town Council members approved a proclamation Tuesday night that recognizes the town’s officers during National Police Week May 9-May 16.

Culver Town Council President Bill Githens read aloud from the proclamation.

Githens stated, “…Whereas members of the law enforcement agency of the Town of Culver play an important role in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the citizens of our community, and Whereas it is important that all citizens know and understand the duties, responsibilities, hazards and sacrifices of their law enforcement agency and that members of our law enforcement agency recognize their duty to serve and protect all members of the community.”

All officers within the department were in attendance during Tuesday night’s meeting and were given applause for their duties.  Those officers include Chief Wayne Bean, Assistant Chief Chad Becker, Officer Alex Zerbee, Rookie Nick Fobert, and Rookie Devin Watkins.

Within National Police Week is Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15 where fallen officers will be remembered for heroic efforts while in the line of duty.
