SummerWorks Programs Provides Free Training for Young Adults

The launch of the SummerWorks program begins June 14 and young adults ages 16-24 are encouraged to participate in the programs.

The Center for Workforce Innovations and the Northwest Indiana Workforce Board members are working to assist young adults in an opportunity to gain skills for the workforce.

TechWorks is an opportunity for participates to gain an IT Fundamentals certification and a Level One Customer Service Badge.  The program will include paid work experience earning up to $15 an hour.

Ready for Work enables attendees to go through a career assessment based on interests.  It features budgeting and financial literacy, learning soft skills important to employers, a mind-set on what it takes to succeed in the workforce, and what it takes to start a business.

Applications and eligibility requirements are available by visiting www.gotoworkonenw.com, or by calling 219-462-2940.  Spots in these training programs are limited.
