An additional 23 people in Marshall County have been diagnosed with COVID-19, along with four people in Starke County and one person in Pulaski County, according to Sunday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. They are among 913 new cases in the state.
Marshall County now has 6,039 total cases of COVID-19 since March of 2020, Starke County has 2,163 and Pulaski County has reported 1,167.
The total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state exceeds 13,000 with 12 additional deaths reported Sunday.
Nearly 1,500 people in the state have been diagnosed with the B.1.1.7. variant of COVID-19 that was originally identified in the UK, while 247 people have been diagnosed with the B.1.427/B.1.429 variant originally identified in California. Additionally, 115 people have been diagnosed with the P.1 variant originally identified in Brazil, and 15 people have been diagnosed with the B.1.351 variant originally identified in South Africa.
Mobile vaccination clinics will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET at the Center Lake Pavilion in Warsaw, the Tolson Center in Elkhart and other locations around the state. Over 2.1 million people in the state are fully vaccinated.
